REASON NO. 7 THAT DIETS DON’T WORK

YOU COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHER PEOPLE AND IMAGES FROM THE MEDIA

Every BODY is different. We come in all shapes and sizes, colours and ages. YOU CANNOT FIT A SQUARE PEG INTO A ROUND HOLE. At 160cm and of sturdy build, I am never going to look like Kate Moss.

However hard you try you can never achieve an identical body to someone else’s, so why do we try? Again, is it wanting what’s unobtainable to us?

Instead of focussing on what you DON’T like about your body, start focussing on the things you like and love about your body … and it may not be visual.

Regardless of your shape and size, your body is AMAZING! It lives and breathes without you having to think about it! It can create and grow a whole new body with aspects of itself. It converts food to energy and it creates its own healing mechanisms if you tear your skin or break a bone. If you look after it by giving it the right fuel, it will look after you.

Isn’t it about time you started appreciating your body for what it is and how hard it works for you, rather than what it isn’t?

Looks may be important to you, but they are only skin deep. Some of the most beautiful, amazing people come in bodies you wouldn’t judge as classically beautiful, but every body has beautiful elements. What’s more people perceived visually beautiful aren’t necessarily any more happier than you.

Most humans just want to love and be loved, but if you can’t love yourself and your body, why should anyone else? Wouldn’t you love to love your body?
