WHY WOULD YOU GO ON A DIET? In September over 50% of adults will start yet another diet and fail!

Do you ever wonder why your willpower seems to vanish around food?

Why do you reach for snacks when you’re not even hungry?

And why do diets always feel like an endless battle you can’t win?

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. In fact, around 95% of diets fail.

Every September, over half of all UK adults vow to “get back on track” with a new diet after the summer.

👉 A 2019 survey by The 1 : 1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan found 57% of UK adults intended to start a diet that September.

👉 A 2024 Slimming World survey revealed a similar trend, with 56% of UK adults saying they’ve previously followed a diet.

👉 And research consistently shows that 95% of diets fail — with most people regaining the weight within 2 years (and often more).

So if the stats are this clear… what’s the point of going on yet another restrictive diet?

Diets don’t fail because you’re weak, lazy or lack willpower. They fail because they don’t address the real root cause behind your eating habits;

  • your subconscious patterns,

  • your emotions,

  • and your unmet needs,

  • you’ve been led to believe after 6 decades of genius marketing that they DO work (the problem is YOU!), The $195 billion weightloss and health food industry is highly profitable and wants you to keep buying into their programs which are designed to fail - more on this in this series.

✨ This is exactly why I’ve created my new blog series: Reasons Why Diets Don’t Work (And What You Can Do Instead).
